Tips Of The Week
Tip 1:
If you want to record home videos with your webcam, you can use the following programs.
1.Windows Movie Maker for WMV file format.
2.VirtualDubMod for AVI file format.
3.WinAVI Video Capture for MPEG format (VCD, SVCD and DVD).
If you plan to view the video in your PC itself, Windows Movie Maker seems to be the best choice because of the automatic recommended settings. If you plan to view the video in your standalone DVD player, you better use WinAVI Video Capture which can produce MPEG format in no time.
Of course, you can play AVI files in your standalone DVD player if it is DIVX certified. But VirtualDubMod settings might scare you (as usual!!). The final point is the quality of the video produced is more or less the same in all three programs because obviously the quality depends on the hardware (webcam).
Tip 2:
If you want to search for the availability of a file in Rapidshare, use the following command line in Google Search.
filename intext:rapidshare.com
Of course, you can use this command to check for the availability of ANY file in ANY storage website like Rapidshare, Megaupload etc., You will just get a few pages of relevant results from which you can easily spot the link you want for download.
If you don't find what you want, try searching with a different spelling by varying 1 or 2 characters especially for filenames adapted from non-english languages. Even an unnoticed extra space will make a difference. You'll never know how the uploader had spelled the file name.
